August 4, 2005 - Home, North Pole, & Fishing at Salcha River

John, Jillian, Leah, and Jon outside of the Knotty Shop. We had just finished eating some ice cream! 

While the ladies set up the picnic, the guys are already out fishing. Go figure! We used the umbrella because the sun was so bright, but there were clouds on the way...reckon it might rain? :) 

Jon seems to be enjoying his afternoon. 

Jon likes to fish, too. Notice Jillian sitting on the rocks in the distance. Also, they're are several fly-fishermen in the water. 

Leah is so pretty! BTW, the lovely necklace with the Cross on it was lost just minutes after this photo was taken. We looked for so long, but never found it. Hopefully someone has come along since then that found it and loves it as much as Leah did.

Here's one of the few fish John was able to catch during his visit. I think he said it is a Rainbow Trout. It tasted pretty darn good whatever it was! Maybe next year he'll catch a King Salmon! 

We have such a pretty daughter-in-law! Here Leah is starting to climb down from some steep rocks. Not sure why some folks think graffiti looks good 'coz I think it's so ugly!

John is trying to feed a squirrel. We had stopped here to see the Reindeer that are kept at Santa Claus' House in North Pole, AK. 

August 5, 2005 - Denali National Park

Leah's fising in the Tanana River behind a restaurant in Nenana, AK. We were on our way to Denali National Park.

Can you tell he's eating? :) The Tanana and Nenana Rivers merge together near that bridge over Jon's shoulder. Nice photo!

Not sure what John was doing and why he wasn't in the photo, but it's one of my favorites, and I wish he'd have been in it! Look how relaxed and happy everyone is! It's always nice to get out of the car for a while when traveling!
